KATU Sunday weather forecast

As we inch closer to the start of spring it's still going to feel like winter! Just a chance of showers Sunday morning, but cold enough that those showers could be snowflakes, or at least a mix of rain and snow. There's an even better chance of that Monday morning. There won't be any accumulation for the beaches or valley floor, but we could see two inches in the coast range and the Cascades, including the foothills. Overall though, Sunday and Monday will be more dry than wet. Still cool, with highs in the mid 40's.

Expect more steady rain and breezy conditions Monday night into Tuesday and Wednesday.

KATU Sunday weather forecast

We're going to wake up to showers this morning with low snow level around 1,500 feet. For the mountains there could be close to a foot of new snow by the end of the day. Thunderstorms could hit the coast and valley this morning, with day time highs in the mid to upper 40s.

This evening, a high wind warning takes effect for the Oregon Coast with gusts around 70 miles per hour tomorrow. A winter weather advisory takes effect for the Cascades later today as well.

Tonight's Low: 37

KATU Sunday weather forecast

We're going to wake up to a few showers mixed in with some snow. Snow level will be at 500 feet, but the accumulation will be around the one thousand foot level, with an inch possible. The coast range and the mountains could see up to four inches, but I'm expecting it to be a little less because there's not much moisture in this system.

By tomorrow, we'll see dry weather, but get ready to see areas of freezing fog starting off Monday morning.

We're going to see dry conditions a good part of the day as a ridge of high pressure slowly pushes off to the east, but a system is right behind it that will bring rain to the coast and valley.

For the mountains, you'll be seeing a couple of inches of snow the next 24 hours. Snow levels tonight drop down below pass levels around 1500 to 2000 feet.

We won't get a lot of rain in the metro area. By tomorrow afternoon we'll start to see dry weather move in.

KATU Sunday weather forecast

Once again, as you walk outside today you'll be getting that spring feeling. A ridge of high pressure will continue to bring sunny skies and warm weather. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s here in the valley, while the coast will see 60s in some spots. The east winds will continue, however. The closer you get to the Columbia River Gorge, you'll feel wind gusts close to 50 miles per hour. The sunny skies will stick around most of the work week.

Today's High: 54

Tonight's Low: 37

KATU Sunday weather forecast

The Oregon Coast is going to see gusts up to 75 miles per hour with close to an inch of rain. Here in the valley, the weather will be windy and wet with about 1/4'' of rain by this evening. This system that's pushing in today will even bring snow to the Columbia River Gorge.

The good news is, things will be drier by tomorrow.
