About Us
The concept of Real Barbecue and great Ribs started out with a small family-style barbecue operation in 1989 on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers, Florida. With the success of that location a second restaurant opened in Cape Coral in 1990.
Having outgrown the small location on U.S. 41, by 1992, a move was made up the street to a larger building along with partners Paul and Craig Peden, successful restaurateurs in Southwest Florida for over 20 years. Later that same year, they converted a Fort Myers Beach location into a Rib City®, and the legend continued. In 1994, a location in North Naples was opened and Rib City's® award-winning Baby Back Ribs were now available in two counties.

ABOUT THE SMOKING PROCESS
To achieve that real backyard barbecue flavor, meat must be cooked slowly over just the right wood fire. At Rib City®, choice cuts of meat are basted with our signature barbecue sauce and smoked over selected hardwoods - including Red Oak - carefully balancing heat and cooking time to seal in that distinctive Rib City® Barbecue taste!
All of our meats are slow cooked to perfection in our wood-burning smokers! Select from Award Winning Imported Baby Back Ribs; St. Louis Spare Ribs by the plateful; lean Beef and Pork sliced thin; plump, juicy Chicken; delicious Smoked Turkey Breast or tender Riblets. Top our meats with one of our four secret recipe signature Barbecue Sauces - Sweet, Tangy, Hot or Carolina Mustard.
The pink coloring and ring in our Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey and Ribs is due to our barbecue cooking process and basting sauces. Look for the pink smoke ring to ensure you are eating REAL smoked barbecue!

At Rib City we use only Danish Crown Baby Backs imported from Denmark. Our reason for this is there are NO HORMONES or STEROIDS used in the raising of the animals and the main feed used is barley instead of corn. When eaten, barley turns into meat instead of fat like corn does. This gives us a rack of ribs that weighs 18oz instead of two+ lbs like the domestic ribs do. All your missing is a whole lot of fat! Rib City is the only one in Vancouver and Portland using this quality of Baby Backs! Come taste the Rib City difference.
